56. Kandis Draw (Ovarian Cancer Caregiver & Advocate)

Join host, Dr. Eleonora Teplinsky, as she speaks with Kandis Draw. Kandis was the primary caregiver for her mother who passed away from ovarian cancer in 2014 and has since become an incredible advocate for ovarian cancer, working with multiple organizations including Gilda’s Club and the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. On today’s episode, we discuss the unique needs and struggles of caregivers and how it is critical for them to have support and help so that they can work through isolation and grief and find the strength and stamina that they very much need. We speak about the need for self-care so that you’re able to provide for others. Finally, we talk about how to have those difficult conversations with your loved one and how to support them if you don’t necessarily agree with their goals or plan.
