Beyond The Pink: Navigating Life, Health and Breast Cancer will be published on September 29. 2026. A breast cancer diagnosis is profoundly life-changing at any age but can be especially distressing for younger women who must navigate their diagnosis and treatment while balancing the responsibilities and pressure of career goals, parenting, fertility concerns, dating, relationships, marriage, and more. Despite the rise in breast cancer among younger women, resources for these patients can be few and far between, and it can be difficult to know which ones to trust (and misinformation is rampant!). In the book, I focus on the challenges encountered by younger breast cancer previvors, survivors and thrivers, but the material is applicable for all who have been touched by breast cancer. You’ll find:
- A comprehensive discussion of breast cancer screening, risk evaluation and reduction, and diagnosis
- Genetic testing, hereditary cancer risk and what it means to be a previvor
- Treatment options for both early stage and metastatic breast cancer
- Information on living with metastatic breast cancer
- Support for the issues especially common to younger patients, from fertility and family planning to parenting, work, and relationships
- An overview of treatment-related menopause with guidance to manage symptoms
- Compassionate and practical tools for emotional and psychological issues, such as anxiety, depression, body image, and fear of cancer recurrence
- A clear overview of treatment-related effects on cardiovascular, bone, muscle, brain, and sexual health with actionable recommendations on managing them
- Personal stories from breast cancer previvors, survivors and thrivers
