“I don’t want to just survive. I want to overcome and thrive.”- Kawana Rucker
On today’s episode, I am speaking with Kawana Rucker. Kawana was diagnosed with breast cancer nearly 4 years ago and she shares her diagnosis and how she made her treatment choices, especially when it came to difficult decisions. After her initial treatment, Kawana became a health coach and now focuses on empowering women to overcome breast cancer through a holistic and wellness focused approach. We talk about the importance of self advocacy, especially when you feel like you are not being heard. We also speak about clinical trials and access to clinical trials, especially in terms of demographic and racial disparities. This conversation is motivating and inspiring and I urge you all to listen!
