On today’s episode, I am speaking with Dr. Lauren Ghazal. Lauren is a Family Nurse Practitioner who was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkin Lymphoma shortly after starting a PhD program. Her diagnosis changed the trajectory of her career goals and her research now focuses on cancer survivorship–especially, in young adults. On today’s episode, we speak a lot about mental health both during and after cancer treatment and how that has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. We talk about life after cancer and the unique needs of young adult cancer survivors. Ultimately, this conversation is about resilience, optimism, and showing up both for yourself and others.
